A GREAT READ THAT I HOPE NO ONE EVER NEEDS

September 29, 2024

Having over 25 years of experience in the medical field, I have seen the toll that a devastating illness can have not only on the patients but on their families as well. In a catchy, rhythmic, and simple way, the author explains, from the perspectives of both the child and the parent, what is happening and what will happen, while also instilling a bit of hope. Although this book is written to assist children in their comprehension of the situation, I believe it would be advantageous to give it to patients of all ages who have just received their diagnosis and are not yet able to comprehend in-depth details regarding treatment and side effects.

A sweet book written from the child’s viewpoint. She shares her worries about cancer. But showing that Mommy is still there for her, even though she has to get treatments and sometimes feels sick.

An excellent way to talk to your child about your cancer.

This is an extremely well-written helpful book. It’s a hard topic to discuss with Kids and as a physician who diagnosis cancer daily- its so important to have these tools to aid the process. I highly recommend this book!

A helpful resource

As a medical oncology physician it can be challenging to help young patients and their families navigate a diagnosis of cancer. This book allows for parents to open a conversation with their children about the journey ahead. It addresses simple topics in cancer treatment and the disease in general. A helpful resource that is beautifully and thoughtfully written.

Super cute book. Written and illustrated well so a young child can easily digest the concepts.

A beautifully written and illustrated book covering such a difficult but important topic. Adults could learn a thing or two from this as well!
